The influence of land use changes on the pasture vegetation of the Apuseni Mountains, Romania
Summary
This thesis is part of an inter and transdisciplinary BMBF project and concerns the recording and evaluation of mountain pastures in the Apuseni Mountains and the illustration of their development potential on the basis of land use scenarios. The project is proceeding in close interdisciplinary cooperation and may be broken up into the following phases and objectives:
Situation analysis of grassland utilisation
- Description of the current cultivation techniques
- Recording of the pasture types and their yields
- Analysis of the influence of changing land uses on the vegetation
Evaluation of the grassland utilisation
- A nature conservation analysis of the grassland
- Assessment of the grassland yield
- Assessment of the agricultural potential and evaluation of the site suitability for specific land use types
Development of landscape planning scenarios
- Presentation of development potential on the basis of land use scenarios
- Development of options for grassland cultivation with the participation of the local population
